Silk, renowned as one of the finest materials, necessitates special care. While its delicate and lustrous appearance conveys the utmost elegance, this exclusive fabric can retain exceptional durability over the years when properly cared for.

Washing
All silk garments require dry cleaning; however, we recommend referring to the care label sewn on the inside as it provides general washing guidelines.
Silk ties should never be washed or exposed to water. To maintain their quality, refrain from machine or hand washing. For optimal care, silk ties should be dry cleaned. We recommend consulting a specialist dry cleaner, particularly for the removal of stains.
Other silk accessories, such as pocket squares, generally do not require cleaning. If lightly stained, gentle hand spot cleaning is advised, preferably using natural solutions. Alternatively, specialist dry cleaners may assist with stained silk; it is prudent to seek their professional advice prior to attempting any treatment.

GENERAL CARE AND STORAGE
TIES
For silk ties of high quality, a small investment in a specialised fabric protection spray can yield significant benefits.
When removing your tie, refrain from pulling it at one end through the knot, as this may cause the lining and stitching to buckle. Instead, always untie the knot with the same care and attention as you would when initially tying it.
It is also advisable to allow ties and bow ties to rest between wears. Like all natural fabrics, silk benefits from being given time to recover and regain its shape.
Ties should ideally be stored in a loose roll, which can be achieved by wrapping the tie around your hand, starting with the narrow end. This method prevents wrinkles, as ties are best stored loosely.
While commonly practiced, it is not recommended to hang ties for storage, as gravity can cause creases, particularly when ties are suspended together on a wardrobe tie rail.
POCKET SQUARES
Should you wish to remove any wrinkles from your pocket squares, it is advisable to use a light steam. However, kindly ensure that the steamer is not held too close to the fabric in order to prevent any potential damage from the heat.
SILK GARMENTS
Store silk garments in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure may lead to fabric discolouration.
Avoid the use of wire hangers; instead, opt for padded or broad wooden hangers to maintain the shape of the shoulders.

STAIN TREATMENT
Immediate Care Recommendations
If your silk tie is accidentally stained, prompt action is crucial to fully and safely removing stains from silk, ensuring thorough stain removal without compromising the fabric.
At a Restaurant
For grease-based stains, promptly cover the affected area with fine salt and allow it to absorb the grease for a few minutes before gently brushing it away. If possible, ask the waiter for assistance—many hotel restaurants keep a supply of stain removers on hand.
At Home
It is advisable to keep a high-quality silk cleaner available and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. A small investment in the right product can often save a tie from irreparable damage—whether it's a splash of milk from a rushed breakfast or an unforeseen mishap.
For complete stain removal, professional dry cleaning is necessary. It is recommended to seek advice from specialist dry cleaners if the stain cannot be treated immediately.

Storage
Store shirts in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure may cause fabric discoloration.
Avoid using wire hangers; instead, opt for padded or broad wooden hangers to preserve the shape of the shoulders.
