The prestigious Investec Derby, dubbed ‘The greatest flat race in the world’ takes place at the Epsom Downs Racecourse in Surrey on Saturday 3rd June 2017. The time-honoured British festival has become known as one of the greatest summer celebrations, enticing 100,000 racegoers every year on the first Friday and Saturday of June.

Referred to as the ‘Blue Riband’ the race itself is a Group 1 flat horse race, this is run over a distance of one mile, four furlongs and 10 yards. It is open to three-year-old thoroughbred colts and fillies and with winnings of £1.5million, has the biggest prize money in the UK.

The Derby has a dress-code which includes a jacket, collar and tie for gentleman, unless they are in the Queen’s Stand on Investec Derby Day in which case it is either black or grey morning dress with a top hat. Ladies are asked to wear a formal day dress or trouser suit with a hat or fascinator. In the below video, Grey Fox visits our store and gives his take on the event, providing a suit and tie option with a touch of personality by incorporating bright accessories. If you are going for traditional morning dress, Grey Fox has a stylish all-grey option for that too.
