Designed with off-duty sensibility in mind, we have created a new shirt fit and accompanying collection inspired by the weekend getaway.

THE INSPIRATION

The collection was inspired by archive imagery, in particular Marlon Brando wearing his famed denim Western shirt, with denim’s utilitarian quality being the starting point for the fabric selections.

THE WESTERN SHIRT

The centrepiece of the collection is our take on Brando’s signature look. The Western Shirt features a new button-down collar and signature three-button cuff, Western-styled shoulder panels, mother-of-pearl buttons and utility chest pockets. In two options, the shirts come in a deep navy cashmere blend twill as well as Turnbull’s exclusive superfine cream herringbone.

THE ACCOMPANYING SHIRTS

The accompanying shirts include a navy and cream check with a spread collar and one-button cuff. This shirt also comes in Turnbull’s own cashmere blend for unrivalled softness and washes down like denim-proper, developing its own character after wear. Finally, two elegant button-down shirts in a mid-blue chambray and brushed cotton puppytooth complete the set.

THE WEEKEND FIT

The Weekend Fit is our most relaxed shape. It features straighter side seams, a high-speed hem construction, without our more formal side gusset, and a shorter body length—allowing the shirts to be worn tucked or untucked—with a revised button placement and wider top stitch on the shirt placket, finished with a 1-button cuff.

THE COMPLETE COLLECTION

Completing the collection are untipped ties with hand-rolled blades, cotton handkerchiefs and a brushed wool jacket. Last, but certainly not least, a pair of 14oz. raw selvedge denim jeans created in collaboration with Blackhorse Lane Ateliers.
