For this festive season, we have transformed our Davies Street store into a destination for Christmas gifting. Taking place from Friday 8th November until Tuesday 24th December, 2019, Davies Street will see five British brands and craftspeople collaborate to provide unique experiences, live making, offers and events in the run up to Christmas.

10% of gross profits made during the Gift Shop will be donated to the Crisis charity for homeless people.

The collaborations have formed as part of a wider celebration of creating in England. Working with brands that share the same values, craftsmanship and pride in British manufacturing, we have partnered with Alice Made This, Climpson & Sons, Ettinger, Jo Elbourne, London Undercover and Pankhurst Barbers. All of the featured brands have contributed to a luxury gift box which guests of the Turnbull & Friends Christmas Gift Shop can have the opportunity to win by entering a prize draw.

Crisis was formed in 1967, as an urgent response to the growing homelessness crisis. Since then, they have helped tens of thousands of people out of homelessness, and campaigned for change. Crisis provides vital help so that people can rebuild their lives and are supported out of homelessness for good by offering one-to-one support, advice and courses for homeless people across England, Scotland and Wales.

Precision jewellery for men and women, Alice Made This work with engineers and artisans to layer the precision of engineering with the beauty of craftsmanship, creating unique accessories and jewellery for you to own and enjoy for years to come. Every element of their process is considered to create timeless and beautifully simple products, with stories of past, present and future. Alice will be doing live engraving in-store on Thursday 21st November and Thursday 12th December.

Climpson & Sons Coffee

Pioneers in evolving London’s specialty coffee scene, Climpson & Sons Coffee sources, roasts and crafts the finest coffees from the heart of East London. Their sourcing philosophy is primarily directed at flavour and quality, alongside which their ethos towards sustainability and ethical sourcing protocols ensure the coffees that are roasted and sold not only have character, but a transparent story. Climpson & Sons will host their coffee cart outside the store for the Christmas Gift Shop launch on Friday 8th November, and will be serving Nitro Coffee Martinis on Thursday 14th November.

Founded in 1934, Ettinger is one of the finest luxury leather goods manufacturers in Britain, and the only one with a Royal Warrant to HRH The Prince of Wales. Among the last makers to still create leather goods in the UK, Ettinger’s quality and attention to detail have been paramount to its continued success and longevity. Monogramming will be available for Ettinger small leather goods on Thursday 5th December.

Jo Elbourne

Following a decade-long career as a menswear designer, Jo Elbourne returned to hands-on making in 2015, setting up her current workspace in Margate’s Resort Studios. Using a specific method of wrapping and threading through, her work explores the seemingly simple act of manipulating string and cotton cord in one direction against another. In 2017, Elbourne won an Elle Decoration British Design Award and was selected to exhibit in the British Craft Pavilion at London Design Festival. Jo will be doing live making in-store on Thursday 21st November.

London Undercover

Using age-old techniques, London Undercover umbrellas are made with only the finest materials and highest quality craftsmanship. The brand merges both timeless and forward-thinking design not only for aesthetic and strength, but for longevity and environmental sustainability. In keeping with British ecological ideology, London Undercover considers all aspects of product and process with a fresh environmental approach. Umbrellas will be available to purchase during the Christmas Gift Shop.

Pankhurst Barbers

Founded by Brent Pankhurst and staffed by a dedicated team who have all been trained to Brent’s high standards, Pankhurst barbershop in Soho is a must-visit for those with a penchant for grooming. The only Barbershop in the world to have chairs customised by Bentley, the Pankhurst London shop is described as part speakeasy, part gentlemen’s club, and has seen some of the city’s most eminent gentlemen walk through its doors. Pankhurst products will be available to purchase during the Christmas Gift Shop.
