THE TURNBULL POCKET SQUARE

The silk pocket square has a coveted place as a Turnbull & Asser icon, with our earliest silk squares dating back to the 1930s. A canvas on which our designers have unleashed their creativity for decades, they are an obvious choice for customers and collectors alike. Neatly folded or scrunched into a breast pocket, and even tied around the neck, the versatile accessory finishes any look with a flare of confident self-expression. Hand-printed in England, each pocket square carries our emblem with an air of pride.

CREATIVITY & COLLABORATION

In myriad colours, patterns and designs a Turnbull pocket square is more than an accessory, it is a wearable work of art. Our designers work with different illustrators and artists to build our collections and special editions. From Bond reissues to prints inspired by The Beatles, our pocket squares take centre stage for our now covetable collaborations.

HAND PRINTED IN ENGLAND

Our fine silk pocket squares are hand-printed in Cheshire, England, using a mixture of traditional hand screen printing techniques through to more modern digital techniques for largest colour impact. Screen-printed squares use an age-old process which sources water from the factory's reservoir. Once the pocket squares have dried following printing, they are given intricately hand-rolled edges for a refined finish.

FROM THE FINEST MATERIALS

Carefully crafted from pure silk, wool and silk composition, our pocket squares use the finest materials from our trusted suppliers, Vanners, who has been based in Sudbury, Suffolk since the 1870s. Robust yet soft, a silk thread is stronger than a same-sized steel filament. We use exclusively designed English silks to make our pocket squares.

A BRIEF HISTORY

A staple of modern menswear with roots in the ancient world, handkerchiefs and pocket squares first became popular in the 1400s among the well-known gentlemen of the day. With the 19th century came the two-piece suit and the pocket square truly found its home in the left breast of every distinguished gent. A further resurgence in the 2000s solidified its place as a menswear mainstay, and due to the array of prints, colours and patterns are more popular today than ever.
